Marlana Vanhoose

Marlana VanHoose, a senior at Johnson Central High School, is 18 years old and currently lives in Denver, Ky. Music has been her passion since she was a toddler singing at several events and churches. Marlana is a member of the Artist Music Guild where she was the 2012 recipient for New Artist Of The Year and Young Artist Of The Year. She also was a 2013 nominee forArtist Of The Year. Marlana was invited to sing the National Anthem at a University of Kentucky Women’s Basketball game in 2012. Her rendition of the anthem at this game was placed on YouTube and has since gone viral. Her performance was so inspiring that CBS evening news aired her story. She has since gone on to sing at a NASCAR Sprint Series Cup Race, the NCAA women’s basketball tournament and a NBA basketball game for the Brooklyn Nets. ESPN recently aired a story about Marlana and UK women’s basketball. Marlana plans on traveling around the world singing and inspiring others. It appears that she is well on her way.
